The Wenzel Beartooth family dome tent is a nice compact family tent that offers plenty of excellent features. However, there is a marked lack of quality components. However, considering that this is a budget tent, that’s ok. Remember that budget tents will always cut corners, so you are going to have to live with a few shortfalls. The key to getting a good budget tent is to find one that doesn’t cut the most corners for the price you pay.

The Wenzel Beartooth dome tent is a tent that is well suited to families who want to try camping without too much effort into the tent setup process.

This dome  tent has 5 sides to it – something that you don’t normally see in a tent. The front area is rectangular with a triangular behind. The actual set up is simple, but you are going to need two people to install the tent – something surprising considering the smaller size to the tent. Because of the weird shape, it can be hard to pack the tent away.

Inside the tent, there is only a single room, but the strange shape makes it difficult to use the space effectively. If you put in 2 beds, they will have to sit by the door and you will have to climb over them to get to the storage area. This is a bit of a pain to deal with.

Most tent poles are made from shock corded fiberglass. But there are reports that poor quality poles put under tension can result in the poles splitting.

As far as ventilation, this tent handles it very well indeed. The Wenzel Beartooth family dome tent has been specially designed to create an updraft so the tent never ever gets stuffy. There is also a removable rain fly so you can enjoy full daylight and increase the airflow if you wish. If it starts to rain, simply put the rain fly back on.

In summary, for the price this tent is not a bad buy. The quality is not as high as other budget tents, but it has one of the best ventilation systems for a budget I’ve seen in a tent. All in all, the tent is a good buy for families that want a no-nonsense, easy to install tent for cheap.
